The owner’s wife, originally from Hunan, changed Sei Bar Wakefield store as the first restaurant in MA offering authentic Hunan cuisine in 2017 with her Taiwanese husband’s full support. Thanks to restaurant customer appreciation of our food, Spicy Hunan Kitchen opened in Woburn in late March 2022 after a years-long renovation. We sincerely hope our uncomprosing Hunan food will not only satisfy your appetite but also make you feel home away from home.
Chef Lin, born in Taiwan, is a second-generation Asian Chef with 30+ years of experience in Sushi, Chinese & Asian Fusion cuisine. He started up Sei Bar Medford in 2003 and expanded the business to Everett, Wakefield, and Woburn.
Originally from Hunan, China, Shirley loves Hunan food which motivates her to cook not only for herself but also for people who appreciate it. Before fully running the restaurant business, she worked for a global IT online media for 13 years. She received her M.S. in Information Systems from Northeastern University and earned an M.A. in Linguistics from Hunan University, China.
Inspired by the authentic flavor of Hunan food and local ingredients from Boston, our menu selections range from quick-stir fry spicy food, house made street food to fresh Sushi.
